By Heather Wong, UCSF Dentistry Class of 2015
The UCSF chapter of the American Dental Education Association has been awarded the Distinguished Chapter Award and the Outstanding Membership and Events Awards.
The awards, presented in March, 2014 at the ADEA Annual Session and Exihibition in San Antonio, TX, were a very exciting validation of the efforts of the entire UCSF ADEA Chapter.
At each annual session, the ADEA Council of Students Residents, and Fellows recognizes individual chapters for their efforts in promoting dental education, providing service to the community, and contributing to academia.
In the last year, the chapter has made many improvements both locally, such as increasing outreach presence in the new community education focus, and nationally, with three UCSF students holding national positions in ADEA.
UCSF ADEA is incredibly grateful to the faculty and student volunteers that enable the vision of ADEA to become a reality.
