Oral and Craniofacial Sciences PhD student Alexis Lainoff has been chosen as a Moritz-Heyman Discovery Fellow in the Graduate Division at UCSF. She was selected for the honor because the program believes she has the potential to become an inspirational leader in the field.
“You have not only exemplified excellence in research,” says Elizabeth Watkins, PhD, Dean of the Graduate Division and Vice Chancellor of Student Academic Affairs, in a letter of September 15, “but have also shown that you are able to articulate clearly the importance of the research being conducted at UCSF.”
The supporters of the Discovery Fellows program intend for recipients to become ambassadors for basic research and for UCSF’s graduate programs.
