Molly Hague has been elected as the President of the National Student Research Group (NSRG, part of the American Association for Dental Research - AADR) for 2014-2015.
She will assume office at the AADR Session next year in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is the second UCSF Dentistry student in a row to receive this honor, following the election of current NSRG President Joshua Emrick last year.
The NSRG is a student-run organization whose main purpose is to foster an environment in every dental school whereby students interested in enriching their dental education through research are encouraged to do so. It is composed of a network of self-governing local student research group (SRG) chapters at each dental school and is led nationally by officers elected through a majority of votes from all members.
Says Hague: "This past year, I have had the honor to serve as the John C. Greene Society (JGS) President. This year JGS achieved some major goals, including win the National Student Research Group (NSRG) Best Student Newsletter Award! None of this would have been accomplished without the stellar 2012-2013 JGS board members. These board members went above and beyond reaching out to students, organizing JGS events, and conducting superb research. I look forward to carrying what the JGS board members have taught me about leadership on to the NSRG position."
"I am ecstatic and honored to have been selected to serve as the future NSRG President. As the NSRG President I would like to establish a NSRG board mentor program, focus on informing third- and fourth-year students about organizations supported by the NIDCR and NIH, like The National Dental Practice-Based Research Networks, and to highlight local student research groups monthly to give greater visibility to their efforts."
