Dr. Shadmehr is an endodontist and assistant professor of health sciences in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences. She performs non-surgical and surgical root canal treatment procedures twice a week in the UCSF Endodontics Faculty Group Practice.
Dr. Shadmehr has been practicing as an endodontist since 2011. She earned her DDS from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2008, where she also received her master's degree and endodontic certificate in 2011. Dr. Shadmehr earned her Advanced Endodontic Certificate from University at Buffalo (State University of New York). She moved to California in 2018 and joined the Division of Endodontics at UCSF as a full-time faculty member.
Dr. Shadmehr is a researcher who has presented at several national and international conferences. She has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and two books. She also has two registered patents in the field of endodontics. Her patents are regarding two innovative designs to remove the separate instrument from the root canal system. Dr. Shadmehr serves as a section editor in editorial board of Dental Research Journal, and is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals including International Endodontics. Dr. Shadmehr has lectured in several meetings and has received several awards for her research work, including the American Association of Endodontics Research Award Competition (New Orleans 2017).
