This course will take you step by step through the common mistakes made when a secure financial foundation is not created. The course will cover how to properly address debt, select the appropriate insurance coverages, set up a monthly cash flow budget, and create different types of retirement accounts that can be funded when cash flow allows for it.

Course Benefits:

  • Discuss tactics to help successfully set up a practice financially.
  • Educate on the various benefits to consider for oneself and/or employees as you grow. 
  • A detailed business stage checklist will be provided to all participants that includes the start-up stage, growth stage, and maturity stage within a business lifecycle.

Intended Audience:

This course is designed for recent graduates who have been in the industry less than five years.

Instructors:

Jimmy Diehl is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), and Certified Retirement Income Planner (RICP®). His background prior to becoming a Financial Planner is in employee benefits where he saw a lack of education surrounding the various benefits offered by companies to their employees. In 2015 he earned the Certified Small Business Specialist (CFBS®) designation through the American College of Financial Planning to help business owners navigate through how to identify, create, and provide benefits for themselves and their employees.

Glenn Bittner teaches financial education classes through the Bay Area, partnering with various educational, community and business organizations. He is a Certified Retirement Income Planner(RICP®) and also Certified in Long Term Care(CLTC®) He is licensed to write Business and Personal Financial Plans.

Cancellation/Refunds:

Tuition refund, less a $20 cancellation fee, will be issued only for cancellations received in writing at least 3 business days prior to the start date of the course. No refunds will be issued for late cancellations or no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel any course due to circumstances beyond our control; under those circumstances we will refund all course fee payments. Please be aware that UCSF School of Dentistry CDE is not responsible for reimbursement of nonrefundable airline tickets or any other travel expenses in the event that a course is canceled.
