Minyoung “Lily” Kim was born in South Korea and raised in Canada and the U.S. She graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology in 2021. Prior to joining the OCS DDS/PhD program at UCSF, most of her research training was in the field of structural biology, specifically in X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM. At UCSF, she looks forward to exploring the various fields of dental research to further her growth to becoming a dentist-scientist.
