Michele Lodolo obtained his DDS degree from the University of Trieste in Italy in 2020.
Since the fourth year of dental school, Dr. Lodolo developed a deep interest and connection with oral medicine and oncology. In 2019, he completed a clinical observership at the Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. That experience provided him with the realization that in the United States, pursuing a full-time training that combines clinical and research experiences entirely focused on oral medicine and oncology is possible. Now, as a PGY-1 oral medicine resident at UCSF, Dr. Lodolo is ready and excited to lay the foundations of his career as a clinician, researcher, and hopefully, one day, as a professor. In addition to his interest in patient care, Dr. Lodolo has an equal passion for clinical research. His research interests include oral potentially malignant disorders, oral dysplasia from an immunohistopathological point of view, oral complications from cancer treatment, and local and systemic autoimmune diseases affecting the oral cavity.
When not working, Dr. Lodolo follows his passion for cinema, art history, and has a never-ending wanderlust for travel.
