Khushboo Gupta obtained her BDS degree from the Manipal University in India 2007. Dr. Gupta's interest in diagnosing and understanding pathology first gained momentum during her internship, while organizing community camps. Seeing first hand numerous patients suffering from oral cancer, epithelial dysplasia and oral submucous fibrosis, she recognized the enormous impact of lack of awareness of tobacco addiction and deficiency of resources for oral health care which lead to the prevalence of tobacco associated oral conditions and started her journey to learn more about oral cancer.
After completing her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences, she completed an externship in the Department of Oral Cancer at a government-sponsored hospital in Hubli, Karnataka, one of the critical southern regional centers for cancer treatment and diagnosis in India. There she continued her interest in cancer research and published her work.
Passionate about broadening her skills to achieve the best results for patients, she chose oral medicine residency as the opportunity to learn in greater depth diagnosis and management of medical conditions that affect the oral and maxillofacial region. She is looking forward to the training which will provide her with the much-needed platform to hone her skills not only clinically but also in developing tools/technology in the diagnosis and treatment of complex oral disorders, as well as providing her an opportunity to contribute to research and developments in the broader field of dentistry.
Her ultimate goal is to use her education to give back to society, by providing comfort and compassion to improve a patient’s life through dental health education and treatment.
During her leisure time, she likes to play board games with her kids, reading books, and listening to music.
