Lecture will include discussion on how to determine if Implant has failed or is salvageable based on complications present: restorative complications, surgical complications, or functional complications. 

Educational Objectives:

Describe how implant restorative design, initial stability, long-term tissue integration, and proper occlusion is essential in preventing complications in implant dentistry.

Instructor: Hoda Yousef, DMD, MS

Hoda YousefDr. Hoda Yousef completed a prosthodontic program at the U. of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) and holds a combined prosthodontic certificate and a Master of Science degree in oral biology. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics as well as a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, International College of Dentists and the Greater NY Academy of Prosthodontics. Dr. Yousef is currently an Associate Professor and Vice-Chair in the Restorative Department of prosthodontics and biomaterials at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.  Serves as  Director of the Undergraduate Restorative Department, Course Director for the Pre-clinical Fixed Prosthodontic and Course Director for Implant Dentistry, as well as Clinical Director of the Implant Program. She works as a prosthodontist in faculty practice.  She has made numerous implant presentations at the Academy of Osseointegration, the American College of Prosthodontics and various Study Clubs and Universities.  She has lectured nationally and internationally on proper placement and restoration of Implants.  Dr. Yousef’s research interest includes implant prosthodontics and has had several publications. research. 

CDE Coursework Units: 2

Tuition: $69 (Due to the Joint Provider ship of this program with ACDE, UCSF Faculty and Staff discounts are not available.)

Cancellation/Refunds:

Tuition refund, less a $25 cancellation fee, will be issued only for cancellations received in writing at least 3 business days prior to the start date of the course. No refunds will be issued for late cancellations or no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel any course due to circumstances beyond our control; under those circumstances we will refund all course fee payments. Please be aware that UCSF School of Dentistry CDE is not responsible for reimbursement of nonrefundable airline tickets or any other travel expenses in the event that a course is canceled.
