UCSF Dentistry Dean John D. B. Featherstone delivered the Surgeon General David Satcher Keynote Lecture to 2015 the US Public Health Service (USPHS) Professional Conference and Symposium in Atlanta, the 50th anniversary of the event.
The dental category lecture honors Dr. Satcher for his inclusion of oral health as part of general health and well-being, and has been delivered annually since 2002.
Speaking on “Caries Management by Risk Assessment in the Public Health Environment”, Dean Featherstone said that he was thrilled to have been asked to give the prestigious lecture, named for former US Surgeon General David Satcher, MD, PhD.
“The audience consisted of thought leaders in the US Public Health Service, and I was honored to be able to present the CAMBRA concepts to them” said Dean Featherstone. “The feedback was excellent, and I am sure we will see application of the principles of caries management by risk assessment in various public health venues in the future.”
