Dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT) has been commercially available for more than twenty years. In this course, we will review several emerging multi-disciplinary uses for CBCT beyond its original primary use in dental implant planning. We will also review the following: imaging technology, including a short history of its use in dentistry, increasing use of CBCT for 3D modeling and printing for diagnostics, and a fully digital implant workflow. This webinar will also look at navigated implant surgery, navigated endodontics, including Orthograde, Endodontic therapy, and Apical endodontic surgery. We will discuss the development of the fully digital patient and the future considerations for the use of CBCT.

Educational Objectives:

  • Describe the rationale for the use of CBCT in modern dental practice
  • Discuss new and emerging CBCT technologies that will soon become commonplace
  • Describe potential CBCT technologies that may soon be available for use in dentistry
